Day 9 - Another day, another show and special visitors

February 28, 2010.  We had our second day of showing in Suffern today.  It didn't go as well as yesterday but that's ok, we'll still riding on the high of our major win on Saturday!

After the shows co-breeder, Nadine and her husband John came to visit the puppies.  Nadine is like Sharon's 2nd mom so she does not mind her sitting in the whelping box with her and her babies.

One of these baby girls will be going home with Nadine and will hopefully have a wonderful show career like her Daddy, Dude.  Here is Nadine with Girl Orange.

The puppies had funny moments as they do every day.
Girls Red and Orange were spooning:

Girl Yellow was sleeping on Girl Orange's head so her butt was up in the air:

And of course there's the buffet line which happens many times per day:

It's amazing how the puppies are changing every day.  You can see that their eyes are starting the process of opening and may be open before the 2 weeks.  Here is Girl Red and a close up of her eye development.

Day 8 - Big Sister Visit

February 27, 2010.  The snow finally stopped and we're able to go to the dog show in Suffern today.  Coco, Sawyer's littermate sister and big sister to this new litter, arrived in the morning to be shown this weekend.

It was quite a day as Coco went WB for a 3 point major!  Now she just needs one more point to finish.  We are all very excited.

After her big win Coco got to meet the puppies.  She wasn't quite as interested as Big Brother Sawyer is, he just loves those puppies.  Perhaps we should have introduced her to Pink...that was her color collar when she was a pup, as you see she still favors the color pink.

Sharon continues to be a good mom spending time and caring for her babies.

I think it's funny when they sleep with their tongues sticking out

I just thought this puppy pile was particularly funny, nice butt Purple!

Look at sweet Red's face!  She's probably glad to be on top of the pile.

Day 7 - One week old today!

February 26, 2010.  I can't believe it's been a week already since the puppies arrived and my how they've grown. Here's a photo of each one on their one week birthday.

Boy Blue

The pups continue to be vocal, even while they are sleeping.  I never had puppies who had so much to say.

Sharon's been very good about letting us be with her babies and take so many pictures.

Scott's been enjoying working from home due to the weather and spending time with the puppies.  Here he is with Girl Orange.

Sawyer just loves the puppies and waits to see them everyday.  He loves to shower them with kisses.  Here he is giving Girl Orange some kisses.

Day 6 - Snow...again :(

February 25, 2010.  It's snowing again, but the puppies are warm as they all snuggle together.

They are continuing to gain weight and some more than others are becoming very vocal.  Everything went well with Scott's babysitting duty yesterday, except when he got home, the ribbons had fallen off two the puppies!  Luckily it was Boy Blue and Girl Yellow so he knew which went on which.  Otherwise we could have had a mix up :)

They got got their little itty bitty nails cut today, I use baby nail clippers.

It was good of the puppies to line up in an orderly fashion before eating :)

Sawyer just loves seeing the puppies and showers them with kisses each time.

Day 5 - We have a lot to say today

February 24, 2010.  They started early this morning, the girls were loud and wanting attention.  I can see they are going to be very demanding.  They were still chatting while they were eating...

We want to eat!

Loud puppies nursing

Everyone is finally over a pound, my last hold outs were Boy Blue and Girl Purple but they pushed over the pound mark today!  Purple Girl enjoyed some time with mom today, looks like she has Spock ears :)

And they all got a change of ribbon today, see how pretty!

Puppy butts are so cute!

I have the night off from puppy duty.  I'll be going to dinner and a concert with my friend, Erin, while Scott watches after the puppies.

Sharon will be fine with her pups ...

...and Brooke & Sawyer will stand guard a the window.

Day 4 for Puppies, Day 1 of Bio Sensor

February 23, 2010.  It's a miserable raining day but the puppies are warm and snug.  I'm trying to get caught up on all the things I let slide while preparing for Westminster and Puppies.  The puppies are continuing to grow and today we started an early neurological stimulation program for the puppies called 'Bio Sensor'.  This link, Bio Sensor Information, gives a full explanation of the program. Based on years of research, the military learned that early neurological stimulation exercises could have important and lasting effects.  There are 5 simple exercises that are performed each day from Day 3 to Day 16.  We are starting on Day 4 because yesterday was vet day for the pups.  Five benefits have been observed in canines that were exposed to the Bio Sensor stimulation exercises: 1) Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate); 2) Stronger heart beats; 3) Stronger adrenal glands; 4) More tolerance to stress; and 5) Greater resistance to disease.  I will post pictures of the exercises at a later date as I need someone around to hold the camera as I work with the puppies :)

Sharon's been with the puppies most of the day.  Yesterday she was taking breaks, today she does not want to leave them.

Even Sawyer came in to visit.  She's being really good about letting him see her babies....from a distance :)

The puppies are just so cute snuggling together.

And of course, there's Boy Blue by himself.

Pink is hanging with Mom.

Sawyer is just content to be with me in the kitchen while I'm working.

Day 3 – Puppies first outing

February 22, 2010.  Monday = Back to work, luckily I’m able to work from home so I’m set up in the kitchen, close to the puppies.
Mom is finally starting to take breaks from the whelping box and sits on the mattress (my sleeping quarters) right next to the whelping box watching over the puppies.

In the afternoon we’re off to the vet to get tails docked and dew claws removed. I take Sharon with us in the car so she’s not too upset being separated from the puppies. The pups all huddle together in the traveling crate.

The pups wait in the basket each time I change the bedding in the whelping box.  It's just another place to pile on together.

Trying to get pictures of the new tails but they keep moving.

All the puppies huddle together, they even let Boy Blue in this time.

Off to Rally class in the evening with Sawyer and Brooke who are glad to get some time with me. I’m trying to balance my time so they don’t feel left out.  Sawyer comes in to visit the pups each time Sharon goes outside.  He loves to give the puppies kisses!

Day 2 – Glad it’s still the weekend

February 21, 2010.  Enjoying another full day with the puppies and taking advantage of Scott being home so I can get things done and not worry about the pups. I take big brother Sawyer and Aunt Brooke for a walk and try to spend some time with them so they do not feel left out. I’m also getting a lot of reading done since there’s no TV in the puppy room.

All the girls are piled onto Boy Blue.  Poor guy!  You can hardly see him under there but he's under them.

Boy Blue enjoys some time in the sun with Mom.
