Day 15 - Busy Saturday

March 6, 2010.  The pup are up early and are active each morning.

Cleaning, painting, visitors, car shopping...it was a busy Saturday and tired everyone out.

Even Scott and Brooke needed a nap.

Day 14 - Two weeks old!

March 5, 2010. Today the puppies are two weeks old. Everyone has their eyes open, ears are still opening. They are cute as ever!  And we they got new ribbons today.

Girl Pink

Girl Red

Girl Yellow

Girl Purple

Girl Orange

Boy Blue

My neighbor Kathy came over today to visit with the puppies.  Apparently the puppies make Sawyer very tired.

Girl Red was quite comfortable in Kathy's lap...
...and on Sawyer's head :)

Girls Pink and Orange version of Ying Yang

Guess it was pretty tiring getting those new ribbons put on.

Day 13 - Sun lovers and getting mobile

March 4, 2010. The puppies are getting more and more mobile each day.  All of their eyes are open  and they'll be ready for the individual close-ups tomorrow on their 2nd week birthday.  We are all looking forward to the warmer weather and hope the snow is over.  The puppies spent part of their day laying in the sun spots in the room.

At night Scott likes to come home and spend time with the puppies.  Sawyer enjoys puppy time too.  Brooke likes to keep her distance.

Day 12 - Birthday celebration

March 3, 2010.  Today is Sharon's birthday so we'll be celebrating with Frosty Paws like we do for each of the dog's birthdays.

Sharon enjoys her Frosty Paw like a lady, cleaning her cup neatly.

Sawyer is a little more enthusiastic with his Frosty Paws

Brooke totally rips hers apart.

Unfortunately the puppies are too young to partake in the Frosty Paws, maybe next year.  Looks like they're trying to spell something out with their little bodies.

Day 11 - Let's go to the video tape

March 2, 2010.  It was a very busy day...for me, not the puppies.  They continue to sleep, eat and snuggle.  Their eyes continue to open and are at about the same place in progression with Girl Pink being the most open and Girl Purple and Boy Blue yet to open.  It's been awhile since we posted videos so I took a few with our Flip video camera, which I love.

Day 10 - I see you!

March 1, 2010. Well look what I woke up to today...It's Girl Pink seeing me through her now opened eyes!

About mid day a few more eyes are beginning to open....and by the way, it's very hard to take pictures while holding a squirming puppy.
Girl Red's peepers

Girl Yellow, almost but not quite there yet.

Girl Orange, not quite as open as Pink and Red but getting there

Girl Pink, a little bit more open than this morning.

Boy Blue, not quite open yet.

Girl Purple, sticking with brother Blue on the eye progression and weight.

Bio Sensor Steps

As promised in the Day 4 blog, here are the Bio Sensor steps as demostrated by Girl Orange.

Step 1 - Head held erect: Uusing both hands, the pup is held perpendicular to the ground, (straight up), so that its head is directly above its tail. This is an upwards position. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds.

Step 2 - Head pointed down: Holding the pup firmly with both hands the head is reversed and is pointed downward so that it is pointing towards the ground. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds.

Step 3 - Supine position: Hold the pup so that its back is resting in the palm of both hands with its muzzle facing the ceiling. The pup while on its back is allowed to sleep. Time of stimulation 3-5 seconds.

Step 4 - 1.Tactical stimulation (between toes): Holding the pup in one hand, the handler gently stimulates (tickles) the pup between the toes on any one foot using a Q-tip. It is not necessary to see that the pup is feeling the tickle. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds.

Step 5 - Thermal stimulation: Use a damp towel that has been cooled in a refrigerator for at least five minutes. Place the pup on the towel, feet down. Do not restrain it from moving. Time of stimulation 3-5 seconds.
